Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians Interested in COVID-19 Vaccination (City of Hamilton Public Health)

The city of Hamilton’s COVID-19 Vaccine Planning Group is leading the planning for vaccine distribution and administration within the City. Currently the group is looking to understand the different channels available to administer vaccine in the City. One avenue, of course, is through pharmacies and by using pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The working group is looking to compile a list of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are injection certified to work at planned large scale, centralized, vaccination clinics. Please RSVP through our website so that we can compile a list. The compiled list will be sent to our professional affairs lead Rami Safi who will ensure those interested will receive a link for a scheduled meeting from the city in this regard on Monday February 8th at 4pm. Michelle Baird, on behalf of Hamilton Public Health Services, is hosting this meeting and will not only discuss use of injection staff but will also take time to discuss how best to cascade vaccination clinics through community pharmacy taking into consideration the challenges of vaccine distribution through different wholesalers. They are looking to approach pharmacies from all banners, franchises including full independents. In advance of the meeting it would be helpful if participants could speak to the volume of vaccine that could possibly be distributed through pharmacies later this year. If you would like to participate in this meeting please RSVP through the website. We don’t currently have the resources to respond to individual emails in a timely manner
