Metformin therapy alone wasn’t enough to achieve glycemic control—what’s next? Uncover the evolving discussion on this topic through our interactive session. Together, we will discover the reasons behind why GLP-1 RAs may be considered an appropriate second-line option in this setting, as recommended by the Diabetes Canada guidelines. Driven by patient vignettes, we will examine the latest evidence behind the decisions guiding our patient’s journey—and why GLP-1 RAs may make for a good fit.

  1. Explain the pathophysiology of obesity as a chronic disease, and discuss the rationale for and potential impact of obesity management
  2. Identify available obesity treatment options and explore strategies for integrating them into a patient-management plan
  3. Discuss practical approaches to overcoming challenges in the management of obesity
