As part of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s broader Opioid Strategy, the Centre for Effective Practice (CEP) will be implementing an academic detailing service across the province. Academic detailing, also referred to as educational outreach, focuses on providing objective, balanced, evidence-informed information on best practices to optimize clinical care via one-on one visits with a trained detailer. Their first topic will focus on supporting family physicians to manage their patients with chronic non-cancer pain, with an emphasis on opioids.
